As part of Platinum Earth’s sevent8 outreach program, PE President Heather Ane Zeto visited a 2nd grade REACH classroom at Hoosier Road Elementary School in the local community of Fishers Indiana right at the end of the school year. The topics covered during the visit included Community Recycling – testing the children’s knowledge of what waste and recyclable products go where as well as Water Conservation – some interesting facts and tips on how to save water as well as some misconceptions. The information was presented to the captivated group of young minds in game and quiz format. The visit was a definite success and Platinum Earth has more outreach events planned in the coming year.
Heather had this to say about her visit: “The HRE students were completely engaged in the material and demonstrated a genuine interest and concern for the environment and the future of not only our community but of the planet! Seeing their excitement and energy and willingness to understand gives me great hope that our goal of a sustainable future is in good hands with the younger generation.”
